wanting my credit card info to reduce my interest rate....
I don't have a credit card!
this caller wanted my credit card information so i could get a lower interest rate
Pretty easy to tell this was a spam call... or worse. I did not transfer to their "operator" because it was fishy from the start. The call was not from an 800 number and they did not identify which credit card or bank they were calling about.
They could be a fishy company offering to consolidate debts, or they could be looking to rob me blind. Not sure. So I will say at best it was a telemarketing call, and at worst it was a scam.
It was an automatic message offering to lower the credit card interest and it instructed me to press 1 to speak to an assistant. I did that and a man named Adam Brown spoke with a heavy accent and started asking me for information about my credit card. I got suspicious and therefore asked him for my card number and he gave me several of them. I told the man that I am not comfortable talking to him and I ended the conversation.
Had the same exact thing happen to me this morning regarding a capital one account and had offered to lower my interest rate. This person also attempted to obtain my card information. They tried to verify my numbers and I refused. They just said thanks and ended the call.
The phone number is exactly the same 1-951-765-2322.
Please do not provide any personal information . This was definitely a fraudulent act.
