Caller state they are from Windows and that they need to gain access to our computer to take care of malicious software that has been downloaded without our permission. I have received at least 1 call every day for the past 2 months. I called Microsoft directly and found out that they do not ever call customers as they do not track any kind of information like this. If a customer notices issues with his/her computer, it is up to the customer to contact Microsoft. After having to pay Microsoft to spend 3 hrs fixing all the damage that was done to the computer, the authorized tech informed me that these calls are scams. The fake "windows employees" have already managed to get into the computer and have accessed personal info. Their intent with trying to gain remote access is to steal more information and then crash the computer completely. I have asked these people repeatedly to stop calling and I have now been threatened by the man on the most recent calls from MANY different #

A nasty man claimed he was with Windows and my computer had an infection which was far worse than a virus. And nobody else could fix this problem but them. I said it was odd to hear the company's name as Windows since Microsoft is the company and Windows was a product that they produce. He became hostile when he realized I would not play along with his game. And yelled when I informed him that we are on the do not call directory and they are not to call again.
This is not the first time they've called. I do not have specific dates and times.

calling about "problems with my computer." There have been numerous other calls saying "there's a problem with your computer" saying they (the caller) is calling to help fix it. We've always told them never to call again. This evening I asked for his, "Jame's" telephone number. He was startled, mumbled something, I asked again, and he hung up. He had an accent -- was not American.

Microsoft Certified Protection Services, saying that my computer (running Microsoft) had been alerted on their global networking system as having been infected by malicious software.

This sounded suspicious, so I asked the caller to repeat the name of the company, then asked to speak to their supervisor. The call was then disconnected.
