Poses as Federal agent and wants $6,000 to avoid arrest warrent wants $600 today and make deal for other but says if I want proof he will send marshal with warrent and lock me up for 48 hours to process paper work so I say ok and hang up I go to Youtube and check for IRS scam and one guy says same thing happened to him and he plays recording and it sounds like same foreign caller I think India or Spanish I am not sure but he use name Jones but a rough dialect anyway guy on YOUTUBE say IRS never call and show document so I feel better about hanging up because before I had second thoughts
Got the same recorded female voice pretending to be from the IRS calling about a "fraud on my taxes" and I had to call back before I was arrested. Who falls for these scams? The IRS NEVER CALLS! Nor do they send agents to arrest you for something you did not do. Someone in law enforcement in Kaufman Co. should try going after this registered phone, which is being used to attempt a crime. Crandall, TX, is just not that big a place.
They called on 7/18/16; voicemail message claiming I must call back and appear in federal court for an IRS charge of fraud on my taxes (which I know is not true), OR I would be arrested. I did not call these con artists back. IF the IRS wants to contact anyone, they will send a letter, not leave a voicemail and threaten arrest (for a bogus charge.) Also, that number (1-972-427-5069) is listed as a mobile phone for an individual in Crandall, TX.
There was another call from telephone number (877) 653-2175; I also uploaded that audio file.
The person in the voice mail message said that legal action was being taken against me by the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury. An audio file is uploaded.
