They know your age, there are many ways to get that info. They know you are getting info about social security. They are playing the odds that you have an appointment or have recently called social security, that's the phishing part. If you pick up and speak to them is when the scam starts, you think it's social security so you answer question. They are NOT social security!!!

Caller ID said "American Voice", I did not answer but the voicemail left was: "Any questions please call Social Security's toll free number 1-800-772-1213. We are calling because you did not return the form we recently mailed to you concerning extra help with prescription drug cost. You should complete and return the form as soon as possible. If you need help filling out the form or have any questions please call Social Security's toll free number 1-800-772-1213." Appears to be a scam, beware!

I received a call from this number. I do not answer when I don't know the area code. I Googled it. The results say it is from Social Security or its a scam. The call is from Texas. I live in Massachusetts. So I redialed the number. I get a Verizon message that the call can't go through. The number has been disconnected or not in service at this time. IT'S OBVIOUSLY A SCAM!

SCAM ALERT - IT'S NOT SSA.
They may be spoofing an SSA number, but SSA would never appear in caller ID as AMERICAN VOICE.
same experience as others: called to 'remind me of my appointment' and follow up from my apt today --- but I hadn't had an apt that day and did not have a future appt. scheduled ---- but ----- how the hell do these people know that I am processing some paperwork with ssa........... are they guessing by age? (which is readily available on Intellus, Peoplefind and so many other 'information' websites that come up when you search for a name or phone number for anyone......................
Can congress control these 'information' websites that to me, violate our privacy and help people with bad intent to scam us, stalk us?

This was legitimate call about confirmation of appointment with local social security office.

I do have an appt. W/ social security and all this was is a reminder of day and time. Also, they left a message. It's legit.

Calls repeatedly even on sundays and. And evenings wanted my in information and won't tell me who it is. Will be blocking this # and. Every other # they use.
