I received a call from the same number and it was a recorded remimder of an upcoming appt with the admin judge..I DO have an appt..should I be concerned? I cannot call the number back.

I just got a Call from this 1-972-497-1400 phone number (From American Voice) at 11:14 AM on April 13th, 2015. I let it go to my answer machine. Message saying that the 1-972-497-1400 was Social Security and I had an appointment the next day.
I then called my Local Social Security Office about this (1-972-497-1400) at 11:28 AM. I spoke with the Agent at my Local Social Security Office. Told her what the message was and gave her the phone number. I knew I had not asked for an appointment nor either my husband. We don't need an appointment with Social Security at this time. The Agent looked up info on me and on their Calendar. She looked up Social Security info up on my husband and on their Calendar.
And there is NO APPOINTMENT Scheduled with them for me or my husband .... which I already knew.
Please be careful. PLEASE. This in not something Good coming from this 1-972-497-1400 Number.
When I told the Social Security Agent the Number mentioned she said it WAS NOT one of their Social Security numbers. But I would have to be the one to report or complain about this number and she would advise to do this to help others out that are also getting calls from this number.

I just received this call twice today wed the day before thanksgiving it is a spam call do not answer them I have a nomorobo call it blocked it almost immediatly. ssi would call you directly

I received a call from this number and it left a voice message. I did not receive anything in the mail about a hearing. I called Social security office, but the wait time is one hour. I will call back tomorrow. I think it is a scam as well but not sure.

I had my attorney check this out. I DO NOT have an appointment. IT IS NOT LEGIT!! They know you didn't get a confirmation in the mail, and you will right away push 2. Then they will get your SS number. When the call comes, notice that NO information is given. Not your name, not the location of your appointment. Nothing. It's ficticious. The people claiming this to be a legit call from the SS are the scammers themselves. Figure it out. Would SS call you with an anonymous number and ask for your SS number knowing the scams these days?

AMERICAN VOICE 9724971400 is a call for someone at you number receiving reminders of phone contact appointment by a Social Security Agent or a hearing etc. An answering machine or voice mail should pick this message up for you. It is a legal no spam number and a voice mail system Social Security uses to leave a automated voice message for the recipient who gave them you phone number for contact. Calling this number back will render useless. You should never block this number.

If you or someone you know was waiting to be contacted from SSI or the SSA you will understand my statement to be true. The message also give you the proper contact number to call to re-schedual if needed.

Ronnie is correct, they call to confirm an appointment that was made, if you want to change or cancel you need to contact them.

This information is correct. This was a legitimate recorded reminder message from the Social Security office to remind me of a telephone interview appointment that had been set up for me by the SS Office 2 weeks ago. It's a legitimate caller.

You will find this phone number purporting to be from "American Voice" listed hundreds of times not only in 800notes.com but also whocallsme.com and mrnumber.com and other related sites.

On each of these sites are dozens of BOGUS messages claiming that this is a LEGIT reminder call about appointments with Social Security. Those messages are from the SCAMMERS, people. CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ARE SCAMS - NO IFS, ANDS OR BUTS.

Don't take my word for it - call Social Security yourself! SS will tell you, THEY DO NOT USE CONTRACTORS TO NOTIFY PEOPLE OF APPOINTMENTS. IF THEY NEED TO DO THAT, THE LOCAL SS OFFICE WILL CALL YOU!

Don't take my word for it - call AT&T yourself! Verify that 972-497-1400 is a disconnected number, whose CallerID is being spoofed by these crooks.

well im not a liar and i do have an appointment and when i did call ss office they said it was just to make sure i didnt want to cancel my appt or reschedule it. so you are not telling the truth. go ahead ppl call the ss office near you or the administration and they will tell you the same they told me. I've even gone up to the office here where i live and they said it was a verification call
