Called me at 11 PM -- I am an exhausted mother of young kids -- Boy is this offensive and irritating, not to mention the fact I find it weirdly patronizing -- why do they think ANYONE would fall for this stuff? What dummy thinks they are getting helpful customer service at 11 OM on a Sunday night, unsolicited?

The usual bi-annual scam, last year it was from NYC. Same number here, out of Louisiana. This is a daily, if not twice a day call to me. Can barely understand, but it's always from Microsoft about fixing a virus. Mideastern accent man. I just say I don't own a computer, or if they ask for my husband, tell them he is dead, and always tell them DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN. You must say that, and never, ever say the word "YES" they can record that and use it to do an internet transaction. And then just hang up. Attorney General advised me to let the answering machine pick up ALL my calls as I do not have caller id, and they will eventually cross you off the list. The AG office can't do anything other than advise people how to handle calls, these people are calling from overseas, anyone can acquire a US phone number, they only need one person in the US with a phone line, whom they pay, to get a number and can access it from "over there." Don't be fooled, and DO report it to your state attorney general office by email or by phone call, ask for telephone fraud.

India call center claiming I have a computer virus. It's fake, have not used computer in over two weeks!
