This number rang mobile saying they were Virgin Media. Ethnic sounding accent. Worryingly, they asked for me by name. I hung up. Don't know how they got that mobile number as although I use it, it was purchased by my partner.But they knew my name. How?
The only people who knew my name and that mobile number was a shoe shop. They had asked for a contact number and my name. Neither were really necessary - I dont normally give that number to anyone. Strange. Three more unknown (unanswered) calls received since then.

Keep calling relentlessly

7.30pm, called by this number on mobile. Gentleman of ethinic origin said he was from Virgin Media, and started asking about my account. I said I was happy with my service, Goodbye.

Called me too. Will not answer. Thanks.

Claiming to be Virgin Media they called my (VirginMedia) Mobile, they are asked for me by name before quickly asking for me to prove my ID (parts of my passcode)! I questioned why/how I should trust that they are whom they claim to be? Instantly the call was dropped! I straight away called Virgin Media who researched the number and confirmed they hadn't called me so that this was indeed a fraudulent scam caller aiming to gain account details etc, for my Virgin Media account!!!! Be very careful out there, don't give ANY cold caller any encouragement, just drop their call real fast, don't be concerned about offending people you'll never meet, the scammers won't!
