e-mail from "Fed Ex Express 42173" when opened blocked my PC with message Fail System Notification to clear phone this number. When I phoned they warned me all programs corrupted etc. Gave her name as Kelly Anderson on extension 9005 and tried to charge for installing a ad blocker and firewall.
Had the pop up suddenly appear on my pc telling me not to access any other pages, tried to but couldn't so switched off comp and when I switched on again it had gone, put the phone number to call to get help into browser and saw these other messages, my friend parted with £75 a couple of years ago when she was phoned by 'microsoft', I said microsoft would never call anyone so she had to cancel her credit card but was left with ccleaner for a cost of £75 when she could have got it free.
Made outbound call to this number yesterday after receiving pop up on laptop that looked real, as if from Microsoft. Annoyed & frustrated. Did not part with any money, (asked for £149.99 to provide network protection), but did give access to laptop! Now with local trustworthy technician.
Yes they have called me and my computer shows errors everywhere
Beware! This phone number is displayed to call a "Microsoft Security Technician" by a very real looking "BSOD" page. You'll see the typos in "27x7" (24x7) and "heldesk" (helpdesk). This makes the address in the browser look real, since most people won't notice. SCAM!
