I got calls from this number as well, everyday my god. Also asked for the last 4 digits of my IC. he couldn't even speak properly and when I asked him which department of HSBC he is calling from and what is this about - he was just trying to brush me off. I straight away hung up. I doubt banks would call to verify one's IC number.

Received few times even I decline to give. I challenge them to provide me the number & I verify yes or no.
Keep arguing till I report to HSBC

Scam. If bank call you, they can only read out for you to verify, and not allowed to ask info from you.

Called everyday. Asked for last 4 digits of IC, said for verification because she needs to reveal ‘my personal banking matters’. Repeatedly giving the same reason. When asked ‘what’ exactly is ‘personal banking matters’ She got annoyed and said if I don’t contact their customer service or go to nearest branch, she is going to call again tomorrow.
