numerous calls, but no voice! Upon calling back it gives a funny tone, but it calls back again and still no voice.

This is a call from airtel recovery dept. They use fake numbers to threaten people to pay their pending bills.

Same issue as mentioned in some previous cases. You get the call, you pick it up and line goes dead. Definitely no need to call back..
