Call from this number today, but nobody there when I answered. A little later the phone rang again and [surprise!] it was Lifestyle Research. They were actually asking for a previous occupant of the house who sold to us nearly four years ago. Nice up-to-date contact list! had another one just like it a couple of weeks ago. After they had identified themselves the conversation went like this:
me: Where are you ringing from?
caller: We are Lifestyle Research ...
me: No. Where are you ringing from? Where are you located?
caller: Call Centre in south Asia. Place called India. [Huh? Never heard of it!]
me: And who are your clients?
caller: Thomas Sanderson, Premier Bathrooms, mumble-mumble ...
me: Sorry, I didn't catch that. What was that client's name again?
Click. Brrrrrr.
Good. That's two CEOs who are going to get complaint letters from me.
They say this is research not marketing, but clearly it's about lead-generation. So I'm flagging this as telemarketing.
