This caller is highly sophisticated, using a set of highly convincing recordings of a female caller. Those behind this dubious operation are clearly trying to trick the receiver that the caller is a live human being. More troubling is that the system also had access to a database that contained both my work and personal mobile number. I am not aware of entering my work number into any system, so I am concerned how the caller got both numbers and linked them together. It all started when I received an unsolicited call from 425-207-4289 on my work phone, which I did not answer as I did not recognize the number. I have only shared my work number with my spouse, so I rarely receive calls at the work number. On rare occasion, when I have received a call at my work number, and it is not my wife's number on the caller id, I do not answer the phone. My voice mail greeting message does not provide any additional contact information. The number is not published anywhere that I am aware of. Within a hour, I then received an unsolicited phone call from the same number but this time it was received on my mobile phone. I thought that perhaps it was somehow a legitimate call so I answered my mobile phone. When I answered, a cleverly disguised automated system with a female voice started to inquire about my auto insurance. Being suspicious, I asked questions and quickly ascertained that the voice on the call was from an automated system. The voice's responses did not respond to my questions in a matter that would be natural. After speaking twice the system's voice said that they would take my number off their list. I am perplexed how these two phone numbers got linked. I notified my company's IT department in case there was a data breach. The caller did not identify themselves.
