Our agency received a call from a person who identified himself as officer James Anderson and ask to speak to one of my employees by name, we would not give the person any information he then stated that the employee who he named was a suspect in a criminal matter, when we pressed Officer Anderson to give us more information as to what Police Agency he was with and if he was a police officer, he hung up. One of our Criminal Investigators called Officer Anderson back the next day, Officer Anderson told us he was a Criminal Invstigator for First Credit Protection. After talking to this person we were able to determine that this is some type of scam to steal persons Identy since they were wanting to verify the bank account numbers, SSN number and date of birth of my employee.I called my employee and had him call his bank to alert them to this activity. We believe the call is routed to another county since this person had a very heavy Indian accent and it took several rings for the person to answer. There was also a lot of background noise and other phones ringing in the background. Officer Anderson or who ever he is, was not aware he was calling a Law Enforcement Agency when he called.
I got two calls from this number leaving me a message that it is urgent I call to settle a legal matter. The gentleman had a very heavy accent. He sounds as if he is reading from a script. He left the return number 856-831-1864 to call him. I finally called (from another number) he said they were "Frist Credit Protection Services" and I could be a victim he was pressing me for my infromation to "help me" . I declined and hung up- When I googled the company name I found information on a link regarding fraud.. Hope this helps someone
