I got call from 1-111-111-111 (10 ones) today on my cell. When I answered the person immediately hung up. I had never gheard of this before but decided to look it up on the internet. From what I have read, this number is linked to a number of companies. But to cover myself, I put it on my reject list on my phone. People may not now that the have this feature on their cell phone, but a lot of phones have it. On your phone, simply go to your call log, highlight the number, press options, and select add to reject list.

RECEIVED THIS CALL TODAY 11/05/2008. THE FEMALE CALLER INDICATED: SHE WAS PERFORMING A SURVEY FOR EBAY. SHE ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SUPPORT OR DISMAY OF EBAY, WOULD I AGREE TO BEING CONTACTED BY A THIRD PARTY / MEDIA SOURCE FOR INTERVIEW AND KNEW MY FULL NAME AND REQUESTED AN FULL ADDRESS CHECK. ALTHOUGH, I FELT DUPED OR CONNED: I FELT THAT THERE COULD BE A CHANCE THAT THE INDIVIDUAL WAS A SURVEY TAKER..... HOWEVER, AFTER SECOND THOUGHTS: I CONCLUDED IT WAS A COLLECTION AGENCY FOR MY COLLEGE LOANS, WHICH WERE NEVER PAID FOR BY THE MILITARY, AND AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF RECEIVING THEIR CALLS: I'VE RECENTLY QUIT ANSWERING THEIR CALLS.... THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE THIS PHONE NUMBER IS A REPROGRAMMED CHOICE FROM ANY NUMBER ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE / DECEIVE OTHERS INTO ANSWERING THE CALLER. BEST SOLUTION IS TO NOT ANSWER THE CALLS WITH STRANGE NUMBERS AND PLACE THEM ON YOUR BLOCKED LISTS. BEST OF LUCK, STEPHEN

I get a call from this number every day. wheni answer, either no one is there or it's a recorded voice. Very annoying.

I received this number too. It was connected to an employment service I use. I guess they use an outside service to make calls. I didn't answer it, I let it go to my voice mail. I was a computer generated voice.

Got 12 calls yesterday from this # and 7 calls from 000-000-0000 all on my unlisted # first for both these #s , All during the day while i was at work , No message on machine and thankfully no calls at night.

I was receiving calls from NCO a collector. I blocked all unknown callers who don't show an ID. Immediately thereafter, I got calls that the ID shows "Colorado caller" or "california caller". when I didn't take those calls for a week, i have now started receiving calls from 1-111-111-1111. When I take the call, it hangs up. It is an attempt by credit collection companies to harrass you into unblocking the blocked calls. They will call all hours of the night. Interestingly enough this is a debt that was less than $90 and was disputed and over 9 years old (four years past the state statute of limitations). In the recent Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protection Act our Congress, thanks to lobbying efforts of the credit card companies, passed legislation that gave such a boost to collection companies. Back when, many a person filed bankruptcy just to stop the creditor abuse even when the debts were too old to be owed. Now they can't. They have to suffer these unwanted calls. So the collectors beefed up their ranks. Even though the debt is too old to collect or was paid, these collectors harass people in hopes of getting a mafia protection payment. I say write you Congresspersons as well. That act did not contain a CONSUMER PROTECTION and is a misnomer.

1-111-111-111 calls 2-4 a day. No one answers.. Change cell phone settings from "flip to answer" to "hit any key to answer".

looks Like I'm not alone on this 1-111-111-111 number. I don't answer calls that I don't know. I was at work when this number came through. I will be contacting my company at AT&T and will talk to the tech dept. Plis I will file with the FCC and let them know another person was called with this number. Glad I googled this information. Maybe with all the calls to the FCC we can get this stopped.
