Total Scam. They butt-dialed me twice and I could hear their television in the voicemail along with their conversations in a very thick accent. This is not the department of education. Do NOT answer any of their questions.
They just called me claiming to want to let me know about some federal student loan forgiveness center wanting to let me know about a program that i may be eligible for from the Department of Education. The person had a thick accent and said they needed me to answer four yes or no questions. I hung up after the second question. It seemed fishy for me, if only because the phone number had an exchange starting with 0.
Scam!!!
Also called about student loans. The call cut off after I told them my name, and then was blocked when I called back
They claimed to be from a federal student loan forgiveness center, but clearly had a foreign accent and could not provide a name for the company they represent when asked. They also referred to me by my first name only which was a red flag.
