I got the call yesterday and now my tablet is not working.

I was called today. The person calling said they were a pc tech co. & they were getting signals from my pc saying that it had a lot of errors & virus. I asked for the name of company & they could not give me a name. He said they were a Pc Tech Support & my Pc was in danger. I said how do you know that? He said that the number he called was connected to my pc. I said #1....this is a business phone with no computer, #2 I have no pc. He hung up! So what does that tell you?!

They said they were calling from Microsoft and needed to immediately fix a Windows problem in my computer. They directed me to the Event Viewer window to show me a number of errors occurring on my computer, and then wanted remote access to repair. When asked for ID they directed me to a cmd window, with the command 'assoc', to show that they had possession of an internal ID number for my computer, saying only "Windows" had access to this number.
I hung up.
