Keeps calling- no message- when I pick up no response- calls three or more nightly

Have gotten a couple calls in the Portland, Oregon area,from this number. One Sunday morn at ~10:30 a.m. - one tonight. So far, none at really annoying hours. Once a male kinda grunted like I surprised him before he hung up, so I got the impression it was one of those call centers where they're calling and monitoring multiple calls, waiting for people to answer. This evening, they hung up immediately. This is SOOOO annoying. What are these companies after? What's in it for them? So creepy - are they trying to figure out when people come and go? Need to teach my German Shepherd to answer the phone!

About 6 months ago these people called me over and over and I made it clear what would happen if they did it again. It stopped but they have called 3 times in 2 days. We refuse to answer the phone calls but I note the time and date. When I get enough, I am going to start a campaign with some of the people wanting my vote next month and maybe they can rattle the chain of one of over paid bodies in Washington. I have the file I kept before and I am going to use the information. I am retired and I have all the time I need so I will not away.

called at 10:40 pm last night. scared the crap out of me thought a family member was hurt. no message left

I answered a call last night at 9:46 PM - I was so mad at the fact it was so late that I didn't ask who it was - they asked for me - however - I SCREAMED that she went to bed hours ago because its way too late to call - the woman answered "OK thanks" and hung up - Afterwards I thought about the call for about an hour and wish I would have asked who it was - then try to get more info about the caller - if they call again I will be ready!!

They called around 9pm tonight. I picked up not noticing the weirdness of the number. There was no sound..no voices, no static, nothing! I REALLY hope they don't call again at some odd hour as other people have posted

The number called at 9 pm. Went to the answering machine but they said nothing. Sorry, but what an unconvincing number.

i, too keep getting calls a lot from 555 123 4567. As otheres have stated, they call at all hours and they won't leave a message. Very Annoying! any ideas on how to stop these guys?

I got a call at 10:50 pm from this number. I called the FCC as listed above and talked to a very nice and helpful person. Unfortunately, this is a "bogus" number that is used as a front for other numbers. They could do nothing about it. The FCC suggested I call my local phone company to try to block the number.
FYI, the lady that called from this number told me they were a "Maryland Research Firm". I asked why they were calling at such an hour and she hung up on me.

Called four times on 9/16/10. Looked number up at this site after the first call and determined that it was some sort of spam call. Blocked the number from my phone but they continued to call (only rings once and records the call time and number on my phone) three additional times. Last call was at 11:30 PM. Noone would talk when I answered the first call.

Reported the number to the FCC.

They have called me 4 times in the past 1 1/2 hours - 9 PM to 10:30 PM. Each time I asked to be taken off their list. They need to be turned into the FCC and fined.

Been getting many call from this number over the past three days. Some after 9 p.m. at night. Finally answered and they asked for the first name of someone in our household. When I asked who they were, they only responded that they were a survey company. They hung up on me when I asked to be removed from their list and questioned them about the phone number they were using.
