This number calls me almost every day for about a year now, you answer there is dead silence, you say hollo again you get a click and a robot says goodbye. I have called them a dozen times to tell them to quit calling me and they swear it isn't them!!!!! And they keep calling. I have turned them into the FCC dozens of times.

Some times twice a day and I have learned not to answer. Sure wish I could block them somehow.

Iolo has called me three times in January 2016, 15,20, and 22. I used to use their software. They also claim that they will not call and it is a scam. I told them to quit calling. Told them that before and they don't listen.

The number refers to one of hundreds of computer generated numbers they can use. You cannot block them all. They just call you from one of hundreds of numbers. They can be calling you from many different geographic locations.
I believe that the people posting here, are becoming aware of a new form of privacy invasion with harassment and semi terroristic implications.
The IOLO connection is obviously due to a major database hack. IOLO denies this of course.
Once 800 services starts calling you, it will never stop happening. They are not a company. Too many people worldwide , are being called daily.
I have found out some of the calls are not just from India, but the Philippines and Pakistan.
I suggest a sort of casual hackers group with the same software. The only thing they have in common is this scam and a cellphone.

One thing is certain. Once they start calling. They NEVER stop !

so this number has been calling me once a week or so for a few months. I've caught onto their scam, they are from India trying to access your computer using all kinds of techniques. i.e. your Windows shows some improper installed programs or you need a security update or your anti-virus is not working or what ever and ask you to give them remote access to help you. I know I should just hang up, but I realize these are inbred subhuman animals and can be treated like lowlifes.

And when ever they call I get excited. Because in the back of my mind I have all these scenarios to try out, think Saturday Night Live comedy skits. I am never rude and use a polite voice to keep them on the phone to play with them like a bunch of stupid children. Once skit I use is when they call, I answer everything in a manor that they want to here. They ask sir, are you near you computer, is it on, etc and I say yes and they ask me to type URL that will give them remote access.
I tell them well this is my grandmothers computer and I need to get her permission. So they ask if I can ask her, I say well she is at bingo right now with her friends.
Then they ask when she will be back and I say I dunno, she usually goes to 7/11 to a SLURRRPEEEE and that takes forever

now by this point they usually hang up, but if its a totally stupid indian who doesn't get that I just made a fool of him, he ask again when is a good time to call back and I usually say around the year 2025 should work.

They call almost daily. I usually don't answer and let it go to voice mail. Now that this number has been marked spam, my phone doesn't even ring , it goes to voice mail.

It's very easy for spammers to exploit IOLO System Mechanic simply with a caller ID "maker". That's why I support Consumer Reports magazine effort to get the phone companies to eliminate this common abuse. Because i have IOLO's System Mechanic on my computer, they nearly fooled me.

Yes, I have had several calls from this number claiming to represent IOLA, but they sound like the usual fakes, far eastern accent and a lot of background noise from voices. Suggests they are very successful in deceiving people. They always claim that they are seeing problems with my computer, but I happen to be a computer technician.

Kudos to you Computer technician. I love it when they call a computer knowledgeable person, and can in turn; call them liars. However I think you may have the wrong spelling on these callers. I think you mean IOLO Technologies, not IOLA.

Scam, Iola claims it's not them. But they seem to have information about your account. "Don't give them control of your computer"!!!!!!
