It is possible this is an organized network comprised of those who may be approaching unsuspecting victims with criminal intent and demand, harass and extort money.

Going under various names, they claim to function in a variety of roles (selling debt relief and debt assistance, debt collection agency, debt consolidation, loan assistance, even the police. (Is impersonating the police not a serious crime? Or is it a new type of fraudulent business, vehicle to exploit victims ... and merely an insult to the police force.?

It seems that the company PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES uses various names including:

It appears PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES may be the parent company and is based in Norfolk, VA and the calls are placed from many numbers to unsuspecting victims throughout the country.

You may be eligible for reimbursement and damages for any harm to you. Contact the appropriate agencies to report them and for assistance so you can get what is coming to you ... and your tormentors get what is coming to them:

1. The state attorney general offices in Virginia, Florida and Missouri and others no doubt have found the company guilty and/or are in the process of building a case and prosecuting. The authorities are waiting for all input from you and you may be eligible for reimbursement for payment extorted from you, pain and suffering.

2. If you are already on or place yourself on the Do Not Call List you may be due monies as a result of this harassment.

The level of harassment perpetrated by this company suggests that there may be an attempt to terrorize and demoralize our nation and research suggests that this company may have interests in gaming, human trafficking and subversive elements and may be funneling money to terrorists.

It appears that the assigned callers approach potential victims fraudulent schemes, and inappropriate requests and demands, behave in an abusive manner, threaten, harass and attempt to terrorize, calling on a daily basis, every day of the week, from 6 am to 11 pm, repeatedly over the course of the day, with calls sometimes a moment apart. Once they begin calling the calls continue for years without cease.

Calls are placed to homes, businesses (even physicians), home phones, cell phones, those who are on the national do not call list and have asked them to cease calling, individuals who have never had any debt, who are current in their payments and never missed any payment, those who have successfully paid off a loan, individuals with fully amortized loans and if someone pays them (even if nothing is due and they just want to pay them off to get rid of them) they come back for more! So what does that tell you?

They target the disabled who may even be trapped in a location, those suffering from ailments and who could suffer heart attack or stroke due to stress, people in the process of dying, relatives of people who have died. Some have paid them just to be rid of them and they call again for more.

Reports are made frequently to complain about these companies and yet they continue calling. It would seem that during these difficult times there is good money to be made by terrorizing and harassing susceptible victims into paying a company just to go away.
