The caller claimed to work for Microsoft Windows support (probably falsely) and claimed that my computer was about to crash, but that he could fix it remotely.
I could hear other people in the background, all sounding foreign, and at least one person was coaching another person on what to say. It seemed like it was some sort of foreign call center placing the call. The caller claimed that my computer was sending error messages to Microsoft and that it would soon lock up and I would not be able to get on it unless I followed his directions. I believe this is some sort of hacking scam; an attempt to get me to give him access to my computer so that he could in turn hack it and then extort money from me to unlock it.
