I got a call and it just seemed off. The caller ID said the name of my bank, but then they sent on about being Apple employees. They said that someone in New Mexico was trying to access my bank account using my apple cloud account. "Jack Moore" , with an accent, told me he was an Apple employee and gave me his Apple employee. umber. AL4973. He kept telling me to log into my Apple account. I told him my sign in info was in the other room, at which point be kept explaining that he could give me a one time password to use. I had to leave for an appointment, so I insisted that he give me a number that I could call him back at. He finally gave me the number 800-100-9009. After my appointment I went to the bank and verified that my accounts were OK and that the bank would not/did not have any third parties reaching out to their customers. It would be easy to fall for this, he sounded calm and very believable. Then I came home and looked this up..
Same as above, said from Apple, press 1, etc.. Blocked number than an hour later same call from 1-800-2273.
Said they were calling from Amazon about my order. I don't have an account or ordered anything from Amazon. They wanted $129.00.
I received the same call as already reported from 1-800-100-9009 claiming to be from Apple Support re an I-Cloud problem. Answering machine took call and I will block.
800-100-9009 called stating they were with Apple Support and my Apple iCloud account had been compromised; press 1 to speak with a customer service rep. I hung up and called Apple direct where they confirmed it was indeed a pfishing scam. They said to send an email to their address with the telephone number details reportpfishing@apple.com and visit the FTC.gov and report the call on line with the Federal Trade Commission.
