The Microsoft ID was a ruse, and I told one of the callers that, and he promptly hung up. There was no reason for Microsoft to call me and when I told another operator this she misunderstood me and said "Oh, are you using Apple", and that told me that they were fishing. Next time they call I may play along but it appeared that they wanted me to feel that I had a virus on my computer.

They called and were talking in another language on the answering machine. In the background I could hear multiple callers, one saying, this is Microsoft calling.
