I got a call from this person claiming that he is from Microsoft and my Windows computer was having problems. When he finally let me talked I laughed at him and said I have a Mac computer, he said he would transfer me to that department and hung up. What a scammer!
Caller claimed they knew my name (although didn't call me by my name or ask for me by name when they called) and phone number from when I registered my Microsoft product which I knew to be false since I had a different phone number when I last bought a Microsoft product. The caller was pushy and wanted me to goon my computer now so they could fix the "problem". I told her I hadn't seen any problem on my computer and that if there was a problem I would deal with it on my own. Still pushy after I said that, so I ended the conversation. Definitely a scam.
I just got a call from this number, My daughter is a trusting soul who opened a program he told her to on this laptop, I am trying to figure out what it was and how to cut it off,
Caller claims to be representing Microsoft stating that a virus was detected on the computer and they needed remote access to remove the virus. I do not run windows on my computer it is a MAC and the only PC I have runs CENTOS 7.
