An offer to lower the interest rate on my credit card. CAller stated I may have received a letter stating my interest rates were going up and this was my last chance to lower interest rates. I listened to call and then pressed 9 and then asked which credit call they were referring to. The answer was any credit card I had. I told them to not call me again.

"Home protection" alarm systems.This seems to be a scam connected with "Maximum Security Alarm, Inc." located in Sacramento, CA. before the company started spoofing phone #s, the calls originated from Washington state, or other places. This is a potentially harmful scam, because the "company" is able to discern where you live and whether or not you have a home security system, making it very easy to break into your unprotected home.
The FCC isn't concerned with this but the company is spoofing telephone numbers and calling numbers that are on the do not call registry.
