Number called my mother claiming to be her grandson. Stated he was in a wreck in Ohio. When asked who he was he hung up. Scam.

Got a call claiming to be grandson and got arrested in new York..a scam

My grandfather was called before 11 am Thursday September 27 by this phone number. The gentleman on the phone instructed him to write down a number, following difficulty I was asked to take the phone. The gentleman asked if I was the caregiver and had me write down a number. He then requested that I return the phone to in his words"my grandfather" which alarmed me. My grandfather continued the phone call with difficulty and returned the phone to me. The gentleman on the phone hung up. I tried repeatedly and unsuccessfully from his house phone to return the call that originated from this number. There was an automated message "network difficulties, please try call back" when calling from his house phone and the number would not go through on my cellular phone.
