Calls from apparent numbers 416-666-4924, 416-666-8063, 416-666-4631 (different every time). All of these numbers bear some resemblance to my cell number and are surely spoofed and therefore without meaning. I suppose the caller's theory is that because of the plausible-looking number you'll think it's someone you know and pick up. Common denominator of these calls is that I have "won" something, and I should press 1 to learn more. Different organization every time. Reputable organizations too, not ones that are likely to stoop this low to market their products. The only time I did press 1, I got a telemarketer who had a very thick South Asian accent and was barely articulate in English. Screams "scam!" to me. I told him I was on the "do not call" list and that his call was therefore illegal. End of conversation. Now I just listen to the end of the recorded spiel (same harsh-sounding female voice every time; only the name of the supposed caller varies), and let the caller hang up.

Well, someone using the caller name "1" (just the digit "one") and calling number 321-284-3078 called me. I didn't answer because of the obviously spoofed caller id, so I have no idea who it was, or why they called me.
