A few months ago, I had someone call my cell phone and ask for my nickname of Becky and then proceeded to tell me I was going to be arrested if I didn't pay back some money. They claimed it was going to be for check fraud. They called my work and threatened my boss. Told my boss all kinds of personal information about me. I KNOW that is not legal. They then decided that I wasn't going to cooperate. They called my parents, told them I used them as a reference and even provided the last 4 digits of their ss# (which I don't even know!). I filled out a form for my state's attorney's office. Well all was quiet after that. I then get a call yesterday stating her name was Carrie Brown and that she was with PPS delivery. That I had to call the 855 # to stop the process server from delivering legal paperwork to me. I then called my local sheriff's office. They informed me that this is most definitely a scam and not to engage any further with them. That if I had any more contact from them to call and they would send an officer to take a statement. Well she called back today. Left a message stating since I did not call the number back, someone would be either at my home or my office at 2:30 today to serve me. I let my office manager be aware of this phone call. I predict a no show. If I hear from her again tomorrow, I will be contacting the sheriff's office. I suggest everyone else do the same.
