Two more calls within the last week, raising funds for NRA.

202-546-6874, Washington, DC. This is the National Capital Services group, who apparently want your $$$ real bad. As of 10-02-08, they have called me 36 times. My call screening device keeps track of the calls. Sorry guys, no mercy money available, fresh out!

I must be considered "political", possibly because I support the political party to which I am affiliated. This number, 480-603-3796, has call a minimum of 22 times in the last year or less. I traced the number, it is linked with the Political Call Center (PCC), located in Arizona. If you have contributed to a political party or action group, you are fair game for this funds raising orgainzation.

I have a call screening device in my office phone system, that keeps a record on calls that are received, whether or not they are on the "reject call" list or not. Handy device, saves having messages left on voice mail system.

Received a call from "James Anderson", at 863-467-8918, a south central Florida exchange. Normally, I don't pick up on numbers that look strange, but I have a customer in this area and thus answered the call. The pitch is for getting a lower interest rate on your credit card debt. What a crock! The credit market, as of 10/02/08, is practically non-existant, so how could they lower my current rate? I asked for the account number of the credit cards of mine that they (the James Anderson telemarketers) have on record. I did not get an answer. I advise the women on the phone I haven't paid one cent of credit card finance or interest charges in almost 35 years, so I could care less about the interest rates. There after, I hung up. Apparently, the "James Anderson" name is a ruse, as this name is not really associated with this phone number. My suggestion should you get a call from 863-467-8918: Don't answer, or if you do, just say "One moment please", then lay the phone down until the party hangs up. You are burning up their time, and most telemarketer procedures allow only 45 seconds or less to get a confirmed contact. Otherwise, it gets logged as a failed call and the telemarketer gets a mark against their "effectiveness". Another good stall is the one where you let them start the spiel, then say "Oh, hang on a second, someone is at the door....", afterwhich you let the phone stay off the hook for a minute or so.

NRA, have received at least 3 or 4 calls. Not a problem in the sense I donated once to the organization, but am not a member. I called back, blocking my call ID (*67) to find out who it was. This was a legit call, in case anyone wants to know what agency this is.
