This was phishing scam

I got so many spam calls that I changed my phone number. Now they chased me down again after about a month.

This is the recording/phishing scam that asks "can you hear me OK?" hang up silently. If you say "yes" they have recorded your word and use it to authorize international calls and spend you into bankruptcy.

Pre-approved for a student loan (being 77, I doubt it applies to me)

It seems that most of the spam calls recently spoof my area code or the code of distant family.
I've answered several that I wish I hadn't.

They are rotating caller IDs to my area code. This one is labeled 'Costco' which is my pharmacy. I should have recognized the number is not my Costco.
