The "...free alarm if you allow us to place a small sign in your yard..." folks last called on May 18th, 2015, just long enough ago to make me realize "silence is golden".
These people call whether you're on the Do Not Call list or not. Doesn't that suggest something about their business ethics? Don't bother to press 9 to be removed from their predictive dialer, they won't. Much better not to answer calls whose Caller ID you don't recognize.
"[female voice] "Hello. The FBI reports there was a home break in every 15 seconds. Your local police recommend you protect your home. If you will allow us to place a small sign in your yard, we will install a new security system at absolutely no cost to you whatsoever. There is no cost for the system or the installation whatsoever. To hear more, press 1 now. To be placed on our Do Not Call list, press 9."

(989) 831-0846 Live call recorded 29 May 2015 ("Microsoft refund department..." ) Microsoft India refund SCAM
Caller ID: "Not Available [12009]"
They called me on 27 February 2015 and I toyed with them, now they're giving me the opportunity to do so, again! Heavy India accent calling to inform me that I'm due a refund from a past dealing with Microsoft. (I should be so lucky, he he)
I tried to put them on HOLD as often as possible (I actually didn't have a HOLD button so I just MUTEd my phone to simulate, but without HOLD music).
He had me start the Microsoft RUN box to enter TeamViewer and I knew immediately he was trying to access and take control of my computer.
After putting him on HOLD again and again he asked me what I was doing and "what do you see?" and I finally started to sing the old Alan Sherman "I See Bones" lyrics from an early 1960s album "My Son The Nut"...the doctor was looking at the X-ray and I asked him, 'what do you see...'" and he finally hung up on me.
Following is a partial transcript of the beginning of this scam call:
me: Hello? Hello?
they: Hello? Yeah hi, this is Mark Robin calling from Windows refund department to refund back your money. How are you today?
me: I am just fine, thank you.
they: Well sir, I [unintelligible] this call is about your refund mondy. Do you remember you paid some money for the computer servies?
me: Uh, I did a while ago.
they: Yeah, dat money, we are, we are going to refund you back because we can not provide you that extra services with the computer, ok, we are experiencing some technical problem in our server dats why our company decided to refund back your money...
He then went on to direct me to log into a TeamViewer session so he could hijack my computer. I pretended to follow his instructions but paused frequently to take another call and put him on HOLD. He finally disconnected when I started to sing to him, 14 minutes into this scam call.

Robo call from (936) 495-8708 recorded 26 May 2015 ("Personal Medic Alert system, free $1,000 grocery coupons and 75% prescription discount card...") SCAM
Caller ID: "Broaddus TX"
also calls from: (631) 295-5822 (310) 599-6020 (240) 397-5331 (586) 231-3657 (321) 332-6561
Variation with a new male voice on their other calls for a "free" Medical Alert system. Opens with an offer for a "free" medical alert alarm then offers free $1,000 in grocery coupons and a 75% prescription discount card which probably isn't honored anywhere noteworthy.
They don't offer any way to opt out of their calls, not that it matters, telephone spammers don't honor opt out requests anyway. Of course they ignore the Federal Do Not Call list, which certainly tells you something about their business ethics, doesn't it?
I love the slips of prepositional grammar they make. This recording says "...you've already been referred to by a friend..." when they mean "...referred by a friend..."
Here is a transcript of the call, poor grammar and all...:
[male voice]"Hello seniors, due to new health care regulations, you are now eligible to receive a personal medical alert system at no cost to you. Since you've already been referred to by a friend or family member we have the system waiting to be shipped out to you. Press "1" now to receive your personal medical alert system and by taking advantage today you'll also receive $1,000 in grocery saving coupons plus a 75% prescription discount card. Again, press "1" now to receive your personal medical alert system.."

The "...free alarm if you allow us to place a small sign in your yard..." folks haven't bothered me since March 10th, 2014, so I guess their call is long overdue.

Ha, ha, ha, lower my rate to as little as 1% and "...consider this your second and final notice..." before the end of the next billing cycle as it applies to the financial stimulus.
"Financial stimulus"? Love their use of buzz words. "Final notice"? Yeah, I wish.
The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid past call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) followed by a 7 second pause. I really look forward to when they say "good bye" and disconnect when I failed to press any buttons.
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their latest offering:
[female voice] "This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts. This is your second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. Press 1 now to find out the terms conditions and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. "Carmen" calling me back using a secondary call number after I blocked their primary calling number. I'm experimenting. Normally, I don't bother to block their calls because I recognize the number and ignore it. But by blocking now, I'm forcing them to disclose new secondary numbers when they call me back which I immediately report on web sites like this to help readers, like you.

(717) 484-9688 Live fundraising solicitation call recorded 6 May 2015 (PA Fraternal Order of Police Foundation...") TELEMARKETER
Caller ID: "Reinholds PA"
This was a live donation solicitation call by a guy claiming to be "Kevin Mann" calling for the "PA Fraternal Order of Police Foundation". Your local police almost always encourage you not to donate to phone solicitations claiming to benefit the police because most of any donation would go to the fund raiser for "administrative fees", and not to the charity. These calls are essentially disguised telemarketing calls to line the pockets of a private "fundraiser".
I am particularly suspicious of them wanting to take my credit card donation but pump it right into PayPal. They say it allows their organization to utilize the donation funds faster, but once my donation goes into PayPal, isn't the ultimate destination hidden or even untraceable? I don't like that at all. See this in the call transcript, below.
If they are indeed a charitable organization and exempt from the Do Not Call regulations, I think they still have a moral obligation not to call people who put their numbers on the Do Not call list because, duh, they don't want any calls from strangers. Would you knowingly call somebody you knew who didn't want to be called and risk annoying them to no end? Why is that sohard for these telemarketers to comprehend?
These people already had 3 strikes against them before I answered their call. Their predictive dialer reached me on several occasions, I answered, but nobody on their end picked up. And after repeated requests from me to be removed from their calling list, they haven't removed my number, now my attitude is not just to waste their time on the phone, but to actually cost them money. You will see in the following transcript that I agreed to make a donation, but I gave them totally fake ID and address complements of www.FakeNameGenerator.com
They'll pay postage to send me a pledge kit, then get it back from the Postal
Service as undeliverable. Perhaps then they'll remove me.

Following is a transcript of this 17+ minute live fundraising solicitation call:
[me:] Hello? Hello? [twice, damned slow predictive dialer]
[they:] Hello?
[me:] Hello?
[they:] Good evening, this is Kevin Mann calling for the "Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Foundation". The call is recorded for quality assurance, ok?
[me:] Ok.
[they:] sir, the reason for my call is the PA FOP Foundation just kicked off their fund drive and as a paid fundraiser for residential programs we're sending out the new pledge kit to all supporting residents. The goal of the drive is to help provide assistance to families and local lodges when FOP members are killed in the line of duty, assist injured, retired and elderly FOP members as well as create and maintain a State memorial for officers practically killed in the line of duty. Now sir, when you receive your pledge kit, can the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Foundation count on you for a fully tax deductible donation?
[me:] Uh, yes, of course.
[they:] Great [you hear me clearing my throat], ok well we have some different amounts, the top spots for the drive are the Gold sponsor at $55, and the silver at 45. Which one's comfortable for you?
[me:] Oh, the Gold or the Silver. Do you have other spots?
[they:] Well, it's not about how much you give, ok, it's the fact that you get involved and share your support. There's also the Bronze at 35 and the Booster at 25. Which one's best for you?
[me:] Well, when I, when I look at the TV and I see all the trouble the police have, I think they deserve our support, so what was the Gold level?
[they:] I was just saying, the top two spots for the drive are the Gold sponsor at $55, or the silver at 45. Which one's best for you.
[me:] Oh, I think I'd like to do a little bit better than that. I'd like to donate $100.
[they:] That's fantastic. Now let me ask, are you 100% comfortable with that amount?
[me:] Uh, yes.
[they:] Outstanding. Now all I need to do is just transfer you over to the records department so they can confirm your mailing address and get the pledge kit right out to you. So please stay on the line.
[me:] Oh kay.
[female voice:] **electronic beep audible** Hi, this is Terri Spill
[unintelligible] in the records department and I'm paid to make certain we have everything correct. How are you tonight?
[me:] Oh, just fine thank you.
[female voice:] Good. And sir, how much did you promise to donate On behalf of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Foundation?
[me:] I pledged $100.
[female voice:] Ok sir. And now to process this pledge we do accept Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover. Which would you be using tanight?
[me:] Oh, uh, you don't send out a pledge form anymore?
[they:] Um, well, that is an option that we usually do after the card, instead it puts the funds to work more quickly for the organization and we do not ask for your three digit security code on your card, only the card number with your expiration date and I do provide you with a transic, transaction number through PayPal as we speak and then in the next two to three days you'd also have your official receipt in your grocer.
[me:] Alright, uh, well, I can, I can do that. How about if we put that on Visa.
[they:] Ok. Ok, and sir, just to let you know with the PayPal, it, it does only do the ninety nine, it's [unintelligible] for PayPal, so is is ninety nine for fine to put on there?
[me:] Uh, oh, instead of one hundred?
[they:] Yeah.
[me:] Yeah, I guess so.
[they:] Through PayPal, ok. And let me get that in here, and you did say $99, correct?
[me:] Right.
[they:] Ok. And I'm...can I get your first and last name?
[me:] Yes, my first name is... *** I go on to furnish a 100% fake name and address, courtesy of www.FakeNameGenerator.com ***
[female voice:] Ok, give me one second, let me get that in with PayPal.
[me:] Uh, we're doing Visa.
[they:] Like I said...ok...and just like I said, I'm gonna...um, alright, sorry, I'm putting your name in, um, I'm gonna give you, it's a sixteen digit it's gonna be a um confirmation number in a Visa ok and I'm ready for that card number sir, ok?
[me:] *** I provide 100% fake credit card information from FakeNameGenerator.com
We spend 10½ minutes trying to enter the 16 digit credit card number for two different cards I furnish...she even puts her supervisor on due to the problem, with no success, duh, they're not valid numbers, afterall... so we agree to do this by mail, they'll send me a pledge kit through the mail ***
[they:] ...yeah, they are. I just want to let you know in two to three days you will receive your pledge kit. In there will be the receipt with $100, a thank you letter along with your pre-addressed return envelope [unintelligible] your generous donation, again all contributions and gifts to the organization are tax deductible and just one question before I let you go, can the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Foundation definitely count on you to return your generous $100 donation as soon as you receive your pledge kit in the mail?
[me:] Uh, yes, definitely.
[they:] Great, thank you once again sir for supporting your Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Foundation and you have a wonderful night.
[me:] All right, you too, good bye.
[they:] Thank you, bye.

"Bridget" calling with a new "secondary" number after I blocked their "primary" number that called several days ago. I normally don't block Carmen, Heather and Brigit because it's easier to recognize the same number calling again and again, but this time I was curious to see what other numbers they use so I can see what other callers report on this web page.
The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid call blocking although I didn't block either number they used yesterday. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) and I love "Brigit's" accent when she says "thank you" (it comes out closer to 'think yew').

Also called from: (215) 297-6820 (208) 580-4895
"Diane" for professional carpet steam cleaning in two rooms for only $49 and the hallway thrown in for free "just for listening to this message." Not once does she mention the name of her carpet cleaning service but at least she's truthful about wanting to add me "...to her growing list of satisfied customers..." which probably translates to maxing out your credit card and more calls from every other telephone scammer who can push a dial pad.
Of course "Diane" ignores the Federal Do Not Call list, which certainly tells you something about her business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of this "two rooms professional carpet steam cleaning for $49" offer:
"Hi. This is Diane. I'm calling to see if you need your carpet professionally steam cleaned at a great price. Right now I'll steam clean two rooms of carpeting for just $49. Our cleaning process is fast drying and 100% safe for kids or animals, and we also clean upholstery, area rugs, drapery and tile floors. Because you've been kind enough to listen to my message, I'll clean the hallway for free. I just want a chance to add you to a growing list of satisfied customers who appreciate good service and a great price. Please press 1 to make an appointment."

(757) 216-1981 Robo call recorded 27 March 2015 (Bridget, Cardholder Services, lower your rate, final notice...HA!)
Caller ID: "Consumer SVCS"
Also called recently from: (716) 258-3152 (682) 703-8279 (205) 632-0015
"Bridget" calling with a new "secondary" number after I blocked their "primary" number that called yesterday. What's worse, they've selected a legitimate business phone number to "spoof" for their outgoing calls! (the actual phone number belongs to a Dentist in Virginia)
The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) and I love "Brigit's" accent when she says "thank you" (it comes out closer to 'think you').
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their latest offering:
[female voice] "Hello, this is Bridget with Cardholder Services calling in reference to your current credit card account. There are no problems currently with your account, it is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate to as little as 1%. Your eligibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice. Please press the number 1 on your phone now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate. Or press the number 3 to discontinue further notices. Thank you. Have a great day."
[pause then disconnect when I didn't make any key selections]

Caller ID: "17162583152" and sometimes "Machias NY"
Also called recently from: (404) 381‑1115 (208) 293‑8933 (305) 368-8492 (570) 983-3206 (570) 983-3796 (406) 477-3151 (518) 278-0335 (518) 278-0333
Anonymous female voice calling (no name given) opening with "Congratulations! Because you've made your payments on time...consider this your final notice..." I have the pleasure of receiving a totally new (to me) recording of essentially the same old "lower your rate" credit card scam message.
The recording of this "lower your rate" call has different wording than past calls but is essentially the same meaning and is from a new secondary number to avoid call blocking I did on their primary number.
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their latest offering:
[female voice] "Congratulations. Because you've made your payments on time you're now eligible to receive a lower interest rate and a lower monthly payment on all of your existing credit card accounts. So please press 1 now to find out the terms and conditions of the offer. Again this is your final notice so please press 1 or press 3 to discontinue any further offers."

(404) 381‑1115 Robo call recorded 20 March 2015 ("Reduce your rate...consider this your final notice...before the next billing cycle...financial stimulus..." Credit Card SCAM)
Caller ID: "Consumer Svcs"
Also called recently from: (208) 293‑8933 (305) 368-8492 (570) 983-3206 (570) 983-3796 (406) 477-3151 (518) 278-0335 (518) 278-0333
Ha, ha, ha, lower my rate to as little as 1% and "...consider this your second and final notice..." before the end of the next billing cycle as it applies to the financial stimulus.
So press 1 now to take advantage of this today."
[7 second pause] [female voice] "Good bye".

(310) 599-6020 Robo call recorded 10 October 2014 ("National Center for Aging issues a community alert for senior citizens over age 65...free medical alert alarm..." SCAM)
Caller ID: "Compton CA"
Also called recently from: (240) 397-5331 | (586) 231-3657 | (321) 332-6561
A new recording of an old offer, and a feeble attempt to appeal to the cost-conscious senior citizens with free "grocery certificates" to push their "free" medical alert system..
Of course they ignore the Federal Do Not Call list, which certainly tells us something about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of this "free Medical alert and $3,000 grocery certificates" offer:
[me:] Hello?
[they:] "The National Center for Aging has issued the following community alert for senior citizens over 65 years of age only. Due to the recent dramatic increase in injuries and deaths experienced by senior citizens from a fall, a burglary or any medical emergency, we are sending out free, live saving medical alert pendants to all eligible senior citizens. The cost of our medical alert system is already covered and there is no shipping charge to you. Press 1 now to verify your address and your delivery date. In addition to your new medical alert system you will also be receiving three thousand dollars in grocery store certificates to help you save every month on your household living expenses. The entire alert system and three thousand dollar gift certificate is free of charge. Again, press one now to verify your shipping address. Press 5 to notify your provider you have refused the shipment." [brief pause then message is repeated]
[At least they didn't say "...laying on the floor..." nor "...just press a buh-hun..." Gotta give them credit for this, lol.]
