Got a phone call from this number at 3:16pm. A guy on the phone told me that I was selected to receive a grant from the Federal Government that I could use for school or my own personal use. I knew that this call was spam from the second the guy started talking and told me why he was calling.First off, the FEDERAL government does not do anything grant-wise over the phone! And seeing as how the government just reopened today, I doubt that even if they did do stuff like this over the phone, that passing out grants would be the last thing they would do today. He said, like I said before, that I was selected by my PHONE NUMBER to receive a grant from the government and all I would have to do is answer some questions. He told me that I was one of the 55 people selected from my state, again by my PHONE NUMBER. He called me by my full name and it sounded like he was in a room with loud machinery. I stayed on the line just to humor him. He said he was going to transfer me to someone who would ask me the qualifying questions. Then he started asking questions about what year I graduated high school (I gave him a bogus year), what my favorite subject in school was, and what college I currently attend. While I was trying to answer (not giving him the correct answers by the way), he kept cutting me off trying to get me to say what he wanted to me say. Before he transferred me I ended up hanging up and looked up the number online to see if other people have experienced the same call I did. Turns out many people have, and different people have been getting calls from this number for years. After doing more research I found that that this person was probably selling the information he collected to colleges. No one ever reported identity theft or anything else along those lines. One person who said that they gave him all of the correct information about them never received the grant money they were promised. Everyone who receives a phone call from the number, do not pick it up. It is a big waste of time and the guy will try to get you to answer the "qualifying questions" the way he wants them answered.
