They call several times a day, but no one is on the other end if I answer. I just want them to stop.

They are a collection agency used by Verizon, and I have a letter from them with this number on it so this info is 100% accurate. I have founf that reporting collection agencies to the Attorney Generals office is a great way to stop them. Even threateneing to do so is usually enough to stop the calls. You can find out how to contact them at the .gov site for your particular state. Martha Coakley's office has helped me before so use them to your benefit. That is for MA though each state is different. Good Luck!!!
