The caller just hung up when I answered so it was probably a wrong number, but they called back a couple minutes later and again I picked up, but this time they stayed on the line for about 15 seconds before hanging up. It is based out of Helena, Montana and I don't know anyone there. I am in a dispute with Dell who has turned over my account to a collection agency so I suspect, if anything, it's them, unless its just a legitimate wrong number.

I received a call at 1:00pm on Friday, 10/2, from an individual identifying herself as Megan Smith with the California Office of ??? (I could not understand what she was saying), and she gave me her number to call her back, noting that she was investigating allegations of fraudulent activity "that have been lodged with her office." She asked that either I or my attorney contact them immediately to prevent this matter from going to prosecution or arbitration. I was on a trolley in San Diego at the time on a 45-minute trip, after which I received notification that I had missed a call (happens all the time on our trolleys) so I listened to her message (which is outlined above) and tried to call her back immediately at 2:00pm. I am staying in a "dead zone" and cannot receive calls or texts, but must travel to an area (typically higher ground) to get AT&T reception. I stayed in the area for two hours, tried to call her back at 4:00pm and when I received no answer, I left her another message that I was heading home and would be out of service for the remainder of the day but would appreciate a call back first thing Monday morning. I did try to call her over the weekend just in case, but no answer again and again left her a message to please call me as soon as she got my message. Nothing. I started calling her Monday morning at 8:30am and tried eight times during the day. I never got a response and never got a call back. On Tuesday night I received a call from another area code 678 number (from a person identifying himself as Dan Hicks with the National Arbitration Board, noting that Ms. Smith had contacted him to pursue arbitration on this case, and he gave his number as 678-254-0723). I called him back within 10 minutes of receiving the message that I had "missed" his call, and got his voicemail. I told him I had no idea what this matter is about and there is no point in going to arbitration because I have no idea what we're arbitrating. On my message, I noted that I was concerned that their numbers were Georgia-based numbers and yet Ms. Smith had clearly identified herself as being with some state office in California. Anyway, that is all I have at the moment soi I think I'm going to call the California Bureau of Consumer Affairs Fraud Division and see if this is a scam operation or if it's legitimate.

Kim, I am NOT a spokesman for Lemberg or anyone else, so please do not think I am benefitting at all from encouraging you to take legal action. After months (and I mean MONTHS) of calls from these idiots five times a day (just like they're doing to you!), I got fed up and contacted an attorney and I promise you, hand on heart, it is the BEST thing I ever did. They stopped overnight! Yes, it was nice to get a $750 settlement, BUT that doesn't begin to compensate me for the aggravation they put me through. Don't know who they are. They call through showing unavailable, but my Caller ID picks them up anyway. If I call back, the call doesn't go through.. They call every day and sometimes twice a day. Any idea who they are? I'm assuming they are a collection agency. Even telemarketers aren't this stupid!

They won't listen to a letter! I begged them to stop, I screamed, I tried to ignore their calls...they don't care! They think they can harass you into paying a bill that is not yours or is not due. They don't care. Do what I did...SUE THEM! I did and I won and I got them to stop calling. Now they are harassing my sister and, guess what, she is suing! If enough people sue them,, we can put an end to this BS!

These morons phone almost everyday to a number that belongs to my father. My father is in a nursing home (and has been for almost a year) and is on Medicaid. The Medicaid program is wonderful in that it will pay all one's nursing home expenses (which come to about $5800 per month in the state of Mississippi), however, they take your property (my father had none), all your retirement income (which amounts to about $2200 for my father), and your cash reserves AFTER $4000 (my father didn't have that much)....so for us, it was a good deal...for his creditors, it wasn't so good, since he had about $18,000 in debt which is now uncollectable. So what these idiots do is harrass me, my sister, and the rest of my family in the hopes (I guess) that we will cough up what he owes. Is there any way to stop them from calling us? They use up my cell phone minutes (I don't know how they got my number) and those of my sister and it is getting ridiculous!

This stupid collection agency calls my sister's home phone AND cell phone (how did they get that number?) about my father's bills! My father went into a nursing home last year on Medicaid; when you go into assisted living, Medicaid takes all your property (house, car, whatever) that is free and clear, and all your money (retirement checks, Social Security income, residual income, whatever) although you are allowed to keep up to $4000, and you get $44 per month as an allowance for personal expenses...in exchange, Medicaid assumes responsibility for all costs associated with your care in the assisted living facility. My father did not plan well for retirement and did not have substantial property or cash lying around when his incapacitation eventually forced us to put him in a nursing home, and he had approximately $18,000 in debt. These collection agencies harass us constantly trying to collect HIS $18,000 in debt. There has to be a way to stop these calls beyond filing a complaint with the FCC which doesn't seem to do any good.

Telemarketing jerks! I called the number back and it's just another scam to milk unsuspecting individuals out of their life savings! My father is in a nursing home, is not ambulatory (hasn't walked in a year), and has progressive dementia, and THIS is the BS he has to put up with in the few remaining days, weeks, months, years of his life! What the h*ll is wrong with this country!?

Yep, I checked the number...it's for Mike Huckabee. I know I won't vote for that jerk. He telemarketed my elderly father who is living in a nursing home because he is not ambulatory (hasn't walked in a year) and has progressive dementia! Do these people do ANY research at all?!?

I don't know who they are. I checked my father's call log because he doesn't understand the calls he is getting...he is in a nursing home with progressive dementia! These people have no shame! None! I called the number back and told them they have 24 (at this time) complaints against them (their recorded message provides no indication who they are) and I told them I hope they go to jail some day for their scam!

This is just another disguise for the so-called "National Diabetes Association", and they are anything BUT! Their other number is 213-289-5782 and you'll find a host of other complaints about calls from THAT number! These people should be in jail! They prey on the elderly and bleed them dry for contributions and make them believe their diabetic treatment supplies are at risk if they don't do X, Y or Z. These companies then turn around and milk Medicare for millions which YOUR tax dollars pay for! Jail is too good for these sheisters!
