This is a 100 percent scam. They try to be abusive when asked who they are. When asked for a supervisor they hang up.

They called me at work and threatened to issue an arrest warrent due to unpaid federal student loans. They had personal details about my former legal names, college attendance, and former address. It was very scary.

First call was from (526) 033-8431 the next from (546) 003-8451 IRS scam... Contacted the police and reported the numbers. Next call I had a little fun with. Being an educated woman, I'm not willingly giving anyone my information and I am going to make them work for their scam dollars. I asked his name "Jim Peterson" Asked where he is from " I belong to Arizona" oh ok you belong their or you are from there (belong???? number two sign that this is a con artist, first was the thick Indian accent) " I belong there" oh ok Jim well where are you calling from? " New York" well what city in New York "Brooklynn" Oh ok Jim; Well I informed him that I had reported the two numbers he called me from earlier to the police "Can you give me those numbers?" well Jim no, no I cannot. The police will handle it. ... under his breath he said what sounded like B***H and then I asked what he said... he then proceeded to ask me if I liked it in the ass... and then hung up... I've called Jim 3 more times... Just an ole country girl harassing an Indian con artist. My how the tables have turned. Stay tuned for more Jim Peterson tales.

Guy with thick accent called me at 7am - couldn't understand half of what he said but I think he said he was from the state department (maybe? hard to understand) calling about "illegal activities," but then offered to call back later. I told him I couldn't understand what he was saying and he rattled off a phone number for his supervisor, then hung up.

Also got a call claiming to be from an IRS agent, saying I needed to get a lawyer and appear in court the next day. I don't have more helpful information because I recognized it was a scam immediately so I got off the phone, but it started off with one guy with a thick accent asking if I was (my name) and said something about my tax forms for my college (that I haven't attended since 2011). Then transferred me to another guy who told me the rest of what I mentioned above, and that if I didn't appear in court they would come for me. Checked out IRS website, and they will never call you like that, or ever make you appear in court the next day. That's ridiculous. Hope this helps.

SCAM number. A person with a strong accent told me that I will be arrested in a few minutes if I do not follow the instructions that he was giving me. He identified himself as a IRS rep claiming that I haven't filed my federal student loan taxes. He mentioned the school where I went and had personal information that initially intimidate but I am aware that IRS never calls.

TL;DR - A scam number. Do not trust.

Probably a spoofed number, but called claiming to be an IRS rep informing me that I have to pay a student tax. I already dealt with this kind of crap not too long ago (only except claiming to be from the state police), so I didn't bother.

A few things: 1) The IRS would most definitely not inform you of this stuff by random phone call. 2) I'm located in PA, so there's no reason I should be getting a call from the IRS from an NY number. 3) They told me of a case number, even though as far as I can tell, the IRS does not operate on a case number system.
