He said that I was the recipient of a $9000 federal government grant but hung up when I was in the middle of saying I wasn't interested and please remove me from your list.

I had "won" a $9,000 grant to go to college.



He also claimed to be a Federal Agency (although I could hardly understand him)

Said I won a government grant of $9000 and wanted my checking account information so they could deposit the money into it. Told them to take a hike that I wasn't that gullible and would report them. They immediately hung up.

The caller identified herself as Christinal Cartel. She had a thick Indian accent in which she stated to me that because I had a good tracking record of payment that I was selected to receive $9,000.00 in grant money from the government. I started to ask her questions such as how she got my number, company and her name. As I was questioning her, our communications got cut-off.

was trying to sell me something , his English was so poor , all he kept saying is i must buy product, i stopped him and told him i was on do not call registry, and not to call me again ,he said that means nothing and i will call you everyday if i wish ......

Claimed I was entitled to unclaimed money in the amount of $9000.00

It offered $9K if I would give my debit card numbers. I hung up.

$9000 government grant that didn't have to be paid back.

Stated that I was chosen (because of paying my taxes on time, no bankruptcy, clear record, etc) to receive $9000 grant money/wanted my bank acct # or a credit/debit card to transfer money.

Phishing call to obtain Credit Card/Banking info and/or steal money.

A female caller with a heavy accent said she was calling from the United States [something to do with grants department]. Caller said I was eligible to receive a $9000 grant and said I could receive it via credit card or bank account and asked if I would like to receive it today. I was suspicious and asked again who she was calling from, and she repeated the above. I'm a Federal contractor who works with email security including phishing- everything she said raised red flags, so I told her I didn't have that info with me as I was at work and asked for a callback number.
