I got a voice message from that number on my telus pay and talk that sounded like a pocket dial. It went on for over 5 minutes before I just deleted the message. Any idea why I would get that? And then just today I received another voice message from them but I haven't checked it yet.

this number keeps sending texts with no message. I don't care if samsung has a problem with a notification reminder. The thing is I don't want their problem on my phone. Samsung needs to fix the problem or people won't want their phones anymore--think what that will do to your stocks???? Fix the darn thing it's extremely annoying.

This isn't spam. It's related to specific HSPA feature phones, for example Samsung SGHA667 (evergreen) on Telus, but it is not limited to Telus network.

It's a software issue with the phone, it is not network related. It's been flagged to Samsung but unless they release a software update to fix this, it won't go away. Possibly resetting the phone to factory default can help but it's not a permanent fix.

When you get a new voicemail, the voicemail server sends an MWI, or Message Waiting Indicator. It's like a specialized SMS, so It's sent over the SMSC server, just like a regular text message.

The reason you see a blank screen is because the packets being sent from the voicemail server aren't being interpretted properly. On most mobile phones, the phone displays a message prompt, and the user can press a single key to be transferred to voice mail. Example, a button that says 'listen now'.

Unfortunately, the buggy software tries to interpret the packets as if it were a regular SMS text, so it can't resolve the 'listen now' button into an image, so you just see a blank screen.

1-600-500-0014 is just the gateway or 'trunk' number, that the sms transfers from the voicemail server, to the SMSC, out to the network, and finally to your handset. That's why you can't call it, or msg it back, and it's not spam.

I've had at least a dozen calls from this number, always a blank text message. It's really irritating.

I also get a blank text message right after I hangup on spammers 1613 667 53 ? Any thing connected there ?
