They called today. I did not answered and googled it and came to this forum. Now I am so confused. I did check my account on-line and there is no activity so I don't know what to do. I would think that if they were calling me for a important legit reason that they would have a live representative on-line.

They keep calling me too and I will NOT call that number at ALL! I have no suspicious activity on my card.

Received a call from this number re: confirming a purchase of software that I made online that had been refused.. Called the number on my TD Visa card and confirmed that the telephone number was legitimate. Called the number and got the same girl at TD Security in Toronto and sorted it out. Number is legitimate in my experience.

SCAM . I called real TD number and they said its a scam

Some comments here saying 'this is real' are exactly the same as I saw on other website.

Look, emergency situation is what scammer good at, forcing us make quick decision. Calm down, search official number and dial.

I just spoke with TD Canada trust after being skeptical and calling the number on the back of my card instead. They told me that it was not them who called and that is NOT one of their numbers. Nothing was wrong with my visa card.

EGIT! 800-466-7295 is Canada Trust Loss Prevention aka TD Bank if you are from the USA. They are calling because they have detected suspicious transactions on your credit card. I returned their call by phoning the number on the back of the credit card (yes, I am paranoid just like you, in case the phone number 800-466-7295, was not legit, but it is.)

It turns there were several declined transcations for amounts from $0.76 to $800 USD, which is a bazillion CAD$. (Gee, thanks, OPEC, for the cheap oil :( )

I'm glad TD detected the activity, and contacted me. They will cancel the current card and issue a new one.

In conclusion, 800-466-7295 is a legit phone number, which you can confirm by checking TD Canada Trust's website.

Called the number on the back of my TD Visa, it is a legitimate number. There was fraudulent activity with multiple purchases on my card. They are going to refund, cancel my card and send me a new one.

Got a call today. Let it go to v/m. TD Canada Trust automated message left requesting I call them back. Instead, I called the number on the back of my card. Sure enough, there was fraudulent activity on my card in the USA. They cancelled my card, reversed the charges and are sending out a new one.

THIS IS A SCAM!! IT IS ALSO ABUSE! IF THEY CALL YOU MORE THEN ONE TIME,AND YOU TELL THEM TO STOP,THEY MUST!

The number *is* TD, but the only time you have to worry about fraud is if you're ever STUPID ENOUGH to enter or give out your credit card number to a phone number you're not sure of. This 800-466-7295 does not ask for your card #.

Valid - I also called the number on the back of my card just in case and he said yes, we do need to verify some account activity. Someone had tried to spend a little under $1000 on my card today alone. Along a $9 transaction went through which I obviously wasn't liable for.

Definitely call to make sure your account hasn't been hacked!

this is legit, i just called the number on the back of my visa and spoke directly to the agent. I asked him if this number is legit and he said it indeed is.
