DECEPTIVE TRICK SCAM - Portfolio Recovery Associates Debt Collection Agency uses this deceptive trick to get people to give up their social security number to "verify" who you are, and then to come after you with a lawsuit.
Recorded message in a stern man's voice with a foreign accent: "This call is going to be transferred to the Social Security Administration. Or, if in case you missed the call, you have to give us a call back on 480-787-2833 or 930-203-0503. Verify the last four numbers of your Social Security to better assist you with this issue. Now, if I Don't hear a call from you, we have to issue an arrest warrant under your name and get you arrested. So get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you."
Portfolio Recovery Associates debt collection agency even does this to innocent relatives to come after them if they just might have deeper financial pockets. They intimidate, threaten, and force innocent relatives to pay up on behalf of their loved one.
They have "skip-tracers," so they already know who near relatives are. They make life a living tarnation.
Bogus scammer pretending to be SS office saying I have to call them back and give them my SS number or else a warrant will be issued for my arrest ..haha! These foreigners are 100% idiotic
Claimed arrest warrant would be issued, but said I need to call back to tell them my social security number. I think the SSI would have that info. Scam caller.
I answered the phone, and was told that I would be arrested today if I refused to pay them. He said I owed money to the US Treasury, but when I asked for the name associated with the debt, he responded with "whoever is the owner of this phone number!!"
