They calling about debt that is not valid. They are trying to scam people for money that is not owed. They threaten legal action or jail time if you don't give them money.

Shady, scam artist collection company. Called me about a debt that doesn't appear to exist and isn't on any of my credit reports, threatened me with "heavy fees and penalties from the IRS" if I didn't pay nowNowNOW! Got noticeably angry and frustrated when I asked for verification in writing. Refused to give his name or the name of the company. Hung up after making rude comments. Called back the next day and spoke to a Richard Scott, who repeatedly refused to give me the name or address of the company. I figured out who and where they were by chasing down the number on the internet, along with the name that showed up on my credit report (they pulled it the same day that they called me) and the name that their voicemail states when you call after hours.
