This is a company trying to collect on ancient debts that have for the most part been written off and are way past the limitation for anyone in Canada or the US to collect legally. They could be breaking the law to try and collect on debts that have been written off. They are parasites, The rule of thumb: DON'T TALK TO THEM ABOUT ANYTHING AND NEVER RETURN THEIR CALLS. Better still enter their number(s) in "Calls Blacklist" or "Mr Number" ,These are apps you can download to block certain numbers or people from calling you on your phone. They work great. They cannot place these debts in any credit reporting agency and if they try do so you can sue them. Don't worry about them, they will eventually go away and try to find some other sucker to believe their lies and B.S. There are Statutes of Limitation in Canada and the US where the creditor is allowed to collect on bad debts. Beyond that there is nothing they can do. The Statute of Limitations basically allows the debtor to get a fresh start without having to go bankrupt. By the way, there have been many debt collection agencies that have gone bankrupt and stuck others with their bills.

3 rapid successive calls to my cell phone. Continued blocking with software - this relates to an incorrect phone number for a person that they won't acknowledge as incorrect

I get quite a few calls from collection agencies looking for some guy I dont know. We have had our phone number over 15 years so I guess he just made up a number to use for credit applications. I know from experience, if you ignore the recorded message they will just keep calling back, so I called and gave the file number, and explained its not his phone number and we dont have any info about him. Very polite person thanked me and said he would remove our number from their records. Havent had another call from DCA so I guess he did do that.

Was the name Derek Bowen? Because that's actually me .
They do this to me everyday and I tried what you did but it stopped for a while but again started .I don't owe them anything . So this is an issue because the debit doesn't exist.
I did not do what was said and give them a fake number which would be a spoof # for the reasons you mentioned. These are parasites of people trying to get money that isn't theirs.

Keep calling me for money they say I owe for a payday loan, I do not work and do not have a payday. They will not stop calling.

DCA Agency a SMALL TIME collection agency that collects purchased accounts from Banks and retail companies like cell phone past due accounts. All of that stuff is way past the legal statue of limitation in Quebec that is 3 years after the last payment. Call the OPC and place a complaint right away ! First they don't mail the initial letter has the law indicates , althought their system will show that it was mailed , they did not to save the money involved because it's thouands of files monthly , therefore they save well over $100,000 + a year in not respecting the mandatory provincial regulations. This Agency is NOT trusted by the CIBC , TD , RBC or Rogers for example to collect actual dues like trusted agencies such as CBCC,TCR or ARO just to name a few. DONT GIVE THEM A CENT ! THEY ALREADY PAID YOUR DEBT TOWARDS THE CREDITOR ! MEANING TO WHOM YOUR OWED IT TO ! IT IS STATE BARRED ! Good luck !

Caller DCA asking to speak to a person that does not live at my phone number nor whom I do not know which DCA called here in Toronto, Ontario Canada
I told caller this number is mine for 30 years he said will take it off list right away.
This is not the first time they have called and I just disregarded it before. No more.
He whom ever he is even quoted a file number for this person and left a message for him to call back asap, on my answering machine.
Turns out it is long distance charges for call I made to DCA. Where this company is I have no idea.
