3013279503 a Megan Tan said she represents the IRS. Megan said shes an investigator for the IRS and called and about a legal investigation.

Got a call from this number today, said his name was Martin David. He had an accent, and told me I am being charged with tax invasion. I told him to call me back while I gather documents and contacted a lawyer. Then he threatened to arrange a warrant for my arrest. I was pretty nervous, even though I know for sure I did not do anything wrong. Glad to find this information confirming it was a scam here!

I gave them the FBI head office number to call me back on 202-324-3000. If they are not yet aware you are on to them, Find a law enforcement agency number (Preferably Federal), give them that number and tell them it is the only one you can speak with them on due to confidentiality - At least you and they will know they were burned!

He had some type of accent but called me saying something about the IRS sent me letters and that they were ignored and now they have a case with me. I told him to call me back while i'll look into it. I googled the number and got this information verifying that it was a scam. He called me four times in a row and finally left a message. SCAM for sure

Called repeatedly, finally left message claiming he is an officer called "Spencer Wankin" from the IRS investigating office who is looking into a legal case against me. Obvious scam, since the IRS does not call US citizens.

Calls claiming to be IRS, Notifying that letters to address were ignored and that their are pending criminal charges. They ask questions the IRS would never ask or need to. The game is to rattle you and make you drop guard. They use false names, false ID, and will answer the phone direct (IRS will not do this)
