Received a letter saying I had an account which I do not. Glad this is out here to know it was indeed a scam.

They call 6x a day

Caller: Bank of Omaha

I received a letter with a check amount $108.71 stating that this check is for the credit balance on your credit card account issued by First Bankcard, a division of First National Bank of Omaha. Where as I do not have any CC from First Bankcard. Thank God did some research on it and now I know that it a big SCAM. Was very skeptical to deposit the check. Everyone out there please be very careful if you receive any check in mail from this First Bankcard, do some research before depositing.

Got a call today (12/23/16) from1-888-893-9519 on 12/23/16 from somebody who identified herself at "Joanna". Said she was from 1st Bankcard at American Savings Bank. I called Visa directly to see if anybody had gotten our cc info and was making unauthorized charges. There weren't any, but Visa said to call my bank. This sounds bogus, as we do not know a Joanna, and the ID was "1-888-89309519" on the Caller ID or something to that extent. She was asking for me or my husband and mispronounced our last name. I never called back, since banks do not do business over the phone. I don't know who these people are or how they got our number. Although 1st Natl Bank is connected to our Visa, it is issued thru our local bank. If we have any problems, we go thru the local bank and not this Joanna person from Omaha NE. This bank has never called us before, so I believe this might be a bogus company. They somehow got the info of which bank issued our Visa and our names. Be careful, and don't call them back. If you do pick up the phone, don't give them any personal information. Been researching and this is some type of debt collector, but we don't owe any debt with these people.

I received a call yesterday and I let the call go to voicemail. They left no message. I called them back and their outgoing message said welcome to credit card services and asked if I was an existing customer would I like to transfer funds, increase my credit limit, make a payment or close the account. They did not identify the name of their company. Anyway, I selected close my account. They wanted the last four digits of my SS number and my credit card number. I entered ficticious numbers and was being transferred to a representative. I hung up cause I didn't want to talk to anyone. Wow. They must accept any numbers you enter. They called again today and I just let it go to voicemail.

Called early during the pm and again at 10:13 pm to get personal info... we hung up on them and highly recommend you do the same...
