Fraudulent electrical discounts on behalf of con Ed

Actually not, she didn't say anything but hello. Mostly just background noice as in a call centre. Asked if she was aware my number was a no-call, she said she wasn't. Asked to be put on their company's no-call list, no reply. Eventually I hung up.

This number belongs to an entity claiming to be EMPOWER (an energy supplier). When I received the call, the guy had a thick Indian accent, the feel of the call was shady (sounded like a home office in the background), and they claimed to be affiliated with Con Edison. They called before and somehow tricked my mom into telling them the account number, and when she told them to wait until I came back, they became very aggressive/persistent calling back a dozen times. I called Con Edison and told them to block any attempts to switch my energy supplier.

Folks: If they call and do not seem to know who you are, they are up to no good. Legitimate companies with whom you have an existing business relationship do not need to be this aggressive; you are already their customer!
