MDS COMMUNICATIONS

This number triggers my answering machine daily and then hangs up. I have been ignoring mailed solicitation requests from the RNC.

My Grandma received a call from this number.
The caller said, "Hello this is your oldest Grandson," to which my Grandma replied my cousin's name and the caller simply replied, "Yeah." She recognized that right away that the caller didn't sound anything like my cousin. Then the caller stated that he was in jail in New Jersey, had a broken nose and needed bail money. This behavior is not like my cousin at all so, thankfully, my grandma recognized the scam and hung up. My grandmother is quite elderly, but luckily her hearing and wits are still quite sharp!

They call frequently. I have a call blocker machine and it does not stop this number from getting through. Says Elizabeth PA on ID. Says MDS Communications or Scott Byers when looked up online.

I received a call from 202-629-9675 on my land line. My caller ID indicated this as number in Washington DC. A live person was on the line claiming to be from the Republican National Committee (RNC) asking for a donation, which would be matched by another generous donor times 3. He sounded legitimate, so I gave a $100 donation with a credit card. He asked me if I was authorizing them to charge my credit card and I stupidly said "Yes", which he could have recorded and used for any purpose. He asked me to spell my first and last name. He asked me to verify my mailing address, and I corrected what they had, which was my old address from 6 years ago. I also gave them my email address to receive other information from them. After the call ended, I checked my credit card account online and there was a charge of $0 from Amazon.com. I called the number back and a voice message stated I had reached MDS Communications, "Press 1 to receive a call back.", which I did to see if they did fundraising for the RNC. MDS Communications is a legitimate fund raising organization, however their headquarters, call centers and remote offices are in Mesa, AZ, Oshkosh, WI and St. Paul, MN, not Washington, DC. The person on the line sounded legitimate, as if they were providing "Renewal Calling, Current Donor Single Gift Call" services as offered by MDS Communications, advertised on their website. This is something anybody could imitate saying they were from the RNC. About 12 hours later there is no charge to my credit card account from the RNC. Therefore, I believe this was a scam to get my credit card number, spelling of my first and last names, current mailing address and email address to be used for a later fraudulent purchase or identity theft. I am having my credit card cancelled and am requesting a new card.

Came through as unavailable. I don't answer 888 numbers. Rang twice didn't leave a message. I will now block.

Answered call from this number. Caller said they were soliciting donations to Habitat for Humanity. I have always donated through the mail, but this time used my credit card. I became uneasy about this, and called Habitat for Humanity. They said they have been using this company for quite a while, and the call was legitimate.

Landline Telephone Call to my 303 Number: The Typical "Annoyance Call" HOPING for a LIVE Person to Answer and SCAM, which was ACTUALLY NOT Personally Answered by ME, but AUTOMATICALLY Answered by my "Silent NO Audible Ring" Telephone System, with my Recorded Name and Telephone Number, with the caller's Message Recorded/Saved, and then Retrieved LATER at MY Convenience.

I am one of the people who make these calls. They are legit. We are contracted by the RNC at MDS Communications to make fundraising calls to people who have supported again. Comes from different numbers because we use an automatic dialer. Either real person calling or a real person running a voice command system.

Correction - the other number where the caller ID says MDS Communications that appears to be for the Republican party is 1-909-366-4126. I blocked both.

Call id says MDS communications. Another phone (1-888-207-1231)under MDS communications seems to be for the republican party. UGH - blocked this.

Florida Highway Patrol fund raising company

This is MDS Communications. They are telemarketers representing charities and political groups. This number can be from anyone of many charities or political groups/lobbies.
The Do Not Call (DNC) list that we all signed onto allows charity, political, survey, and companies we have contacted to call us. The DNC list only prevents legitimate companies from soliciting business from you over the phone.
If you do want to support a charity or organization, NEVER donate through a telemarketer. They will usually skim over 50% for themselves. Deal with the charity or organization directly.

6/28/17. Claim to be VFW. They do so much for veterans. Could I renew membership/subscription for 2017. To best of my knowledge VFW does not solicit in this manner. I ended call at this time
