Got voicemail from this guy asking to call back at this number but the call showed an 800 number. Jason Thompson I doubt is Indian. Reading the above comments will block him

They called a relative's work number looking for me. (Name was foreign-sounding.) I had *never* given the relative's number out (we aren't that close), which leads me to believe it's someone with sinister motives to get me to call them and then they get my number to sell to telemarketers. They did NOT say they were from American Express and actually said they couldn't tell my relative where they were calling from, which seemed suspicious to the relative, who was concerned enough to call me. Nonetheless, reading the other comments here, I did cancel an AMEX card over six years ago and for the longest time, they were trying to make me pay the annual fee of $95 which I had asked to be waived since I no longer wanted it, had no balance on the card, and hadn't used it for quite a long time. It may be an attempt to collect $95 from me, but that sure is aggressive. My relative's not going to pay it, either!

Debt collector

They call probably four or five times a week. Never leave a message. All I have to go by our other reviews some say debt collectors some say scam some say not so nice things. I say find something better to do with your time unfortunately I would be saying that to an auto dialer.

Caller: Persist Pest

Called. Put on hold after automated message. Someone did answer about a minute later and said “business office” and then no more words spoken, but didn’t hang up, either. Sounds like a scam.

Collection Agency Parasites - I don't owe anyone anything. Blocked their number.

They called to discuss an AMEX card I canceled almost 20 years ago

Wouldn't give name of company said has to talk to the person their looking for I told Raul Souza who didn't sound Spanish, he sounded Indian to take the number off the list and hung up.

Thick Indian accent

American Express collections calling on very old debt, being farmed out to someone in India to make these calls. Idiot with thick accent calls. Blocked and DONE. Never answer ANY calls from numbers you don't know, people! This idiot spoofs lots of different numbers from your local area code to make it look as if someone local is calling. Don't fall for their games.

Worthless debt collector. Blocked and DONE. Never answer ANY calls from numbers you don't know.

Caller: Debt collector

Called representing an old account that "had" gone to collections but been paid off. When I asked him to tell me when and how much I had paid he couldn't cite specific dates and times and when he did give a date it took him several minutes to say it. In the background I could hear kids playing as if he was working from home. Not a legitimate collection call but a scam.

They call me at multiple times per day. They never leave a voicemail.

Caller: Ncirm

Keeps calling but I've never done business with them

Caller: Scam

Scam. Claimed to be a debt collector insisting that I give them my banking information despite that I have no debt that would require a collection agency. They won't leave messages, but once you answer someone will try to get you to give them information.

Theyre getting sneaky now. Every time they call it pops up " Account Services" as if I had them programmed into my phone already. nice try

Important! This number (877-434-3248) is NOT from American Express. They are commuting fraud by claiming they are AMEX. Apparently (after research by an investigator) They are a credit mill firm that buys up old uncollected debt from banks and other debtors with bogus inflated amounts. For example, they will attempt to claim the debt is $10,000 when in actuality the debt over 25 years ago may have been only $500. They buy these uncollected debts for absolutely nothing (literally pennies) then try to intimidate unsuspecting people that they owe a 25 year old debt with hard treats and then settle for about $1000. DO NOT BE TRICKED BY THESE CON ARTIST! If you ever had a debt over 7 years old, it's over (uncollected) and don't you dare feel a bit guilty about it because the original debtor charged it off as a loss years ago and the IRS gave them a tax credit (in other words, they didn't lose a dime). So PLEASE don't fall for these con artist and block their calls!
