Caller said they were from Trust about a loan and ask me to dial star 7 or 9, can't remember which number. I didn't, but next they said my husband's name and my name. I said my name and they hung up.I regret saying my name. They probably will use my voice and name in some kind of scam. Contacting Trust about it. Praying nothing happens.
Now the caller ID says Truist. Scammers uave to change with the times. When you answer this number you are asked by an automated prompt for the last four numbers of your social security number. Don't do it! The calls will continue, though. One time I answered & dialed 0. After a wait I got a real person. I said I knew that it was a scam call. Before the last word was out of my mouth, the woman had hung up & I heard a weird dial tone. Why hasn't BB&T / Truist worked to stop this scam? I had just closed my accounts, so I suspect someone in the Truist data center has been downloading names & phone numbers & selling them to this scam for years. The timing of the robo calls is too perfect.
Left a message saying to call BB&T. Provided a reference number. I did not call.
Robo call. Said it was from BB&T. I've gotten lots of these calls and ignore them because the caller ID says Toll Free Number. Got the option to press one or two. I hung up. Just wanted to verify so I can report them to the Consumer Affairs office of my state's attorney general. Will contact BB&T as well. Since this # has been consistent, I will try blocking it.
They also asked for the 2 middle numbers, of my SS. Did not go along with it. It's a scam.
