Received a letter from VW credit stating that I owe them for property tax in a state that I no longer live in. I also no longer have my car financed by VW Credit.

Left Voicemail and identified as VW credit and to call back this number. Caller ID Said UNKNOWN. I had a TDI which I returned under the scandal and received a payout. My account balance with VW credit is zero and has been closed for 4-5 months. No reason to be calling me.

They left a message saying that friends of mine had given my name as a reference. When I called, the prompt asked me to enter my account number or SSN. I called the number because they had given the names of a married couple who are friends of mine.
