Got a call from this number claiming to be Fraud Department, tried to tell me there was an authorized change and an attempt to withdraw money from my account at a branch, etc. etc.
The goal was to try and reset my online password, for which they needed the code WF sends you when you try to reset password online. Of course when Wells Fargo sends you a code they tell you not to share it with anyone, but the caller kept saying "anyone except fraud department". At this point I realized it was all a scam, and decided to jerk the guy around a bit. I would get a text with the 6 digit number and then give him a different number, and he kept requesting it again and again and getting very upset that the number didn't work. Even tried to teach me how to use the messenger app :-)
Anyway -- scary stuff, as the number appears to really be Wells Fargo.

I got an SMS claiming to be Wells Fargo about a possible fraudulent $130 charge from Walmart. They asked me for the last 4 digits of my Social security number. I told them that I don't give that out to unknown numbers over the phone! I called Wells Fargo directly, they didn't offer much help. But, I'll go into my local branch tomorrow and clear things up. Unfortunately, the scammers DID have the last four digits of my Credit card and my phone number correct....
Call about unauthorized charges from GameStop.com
No matter what I do they keep calling all day long
Got a call from someone claiming to be from wells fargo and asking me about this woman trying to open an account in her name with my info and trying to zelle two transactions. he even gave me a Zelle fraud number to call myself. Problem was that don't deal with Wells Fargo , but sure maybe the woman was trying to open an account there. I owe wells fargo money from past nsf's and credit write off's . So its interesting to me haow they can have a caller I>D> show uo with a true wells fargo number and he gave me the Zelle number to call which i did. Here is my observation: At both numbers the people who spoke to me were in cubicles that were obviously located in very busy scammer offices secondly their accents and limited english were dead giveaways. MY REMEDY..... I could tell the ZELLE impersonator was from India and usually they'll hang up right away if they suspect your on to them. So I will use Google translate and translate some real nasty things to them in Hindi ....funny thing is they don't hang up because who does that ...nobody .... I play the recording over and over and over. they stay on the line ultimately costing their company more long distance fees which is the only recourse besides the things i said about their mother in their own language.
