This company identified as Westgate Resorts calls me often 2-3 times a day most days of the week and has been doing so well over a year. Each time they ask for someone named "Ashley" who does not reside with me, nor ever has. My land-line phone number was acquired by me in December of 2013. I have repeatedly told the caller that I am not "Ashley", and that if she did, she no longer has my phone number. I placed my number on the Do Not Call Registry, but kept getting calls, and learned recently that debt collectors don't have to abide by the Do Not Call stipulations, so I suspect this is a division of Westgate Resorts collections. I am fed up, and will be filing a report with the FTC, and quite possibly the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. On one call in the past, I told the caller I am not Ashley, she does not have this number, and the person asked me to prove to them I was not Ashley and asked me my name. I did not want to give them my name in case they would put my name in some data base with the number to start trying to call me to sell me something. I told them to put the phone number they called me at into a reverse phone number search and that my name would come up, and then they would find out who I am and see my number is no longer associated with "Ashley". I told them it was their responsibility to update their data base, and not mine, and to stop harassing me, and that I was going to file a complaint. Obviously, they did not want to take actions to update their data base by verifying that what I said was true by doing a reverse look up of my number. Quite frankly, I don't feel it necessary that I prove anything to them as I am not "Ashley". After me telling them well over a year that I am not Ashley and that my number is not her number, I have had ENOUGH! It's the week-end now, but first thing Monday morning, I'll be filing complaints, and seeking out a Consumer Affairs Attorney to have on standby, in case this nonsense from Westgate doesn't stop!!!
