Received a message on voice mail that said I'm officer Don Ross from the crime investigation unit of the Internal Revenue Department. He said a claim was about to be made in my name (never gave my name of course) for tax evasion and I needed to call 1-206-201-2091 as soon as possible. Don Ross had a strong foreign accent.

Exactly the same. From the IRS. Stated his name and then I was "transfered" to someone else named Kevin Smith with an Indian accent. Said I owed $2,459.00 and I had two options, to make payment or to have it further investigated and if I do not respond or hang up, I'll have an officer at my door within 45 mintues. I asked for his employee number, my case number, a number to call back, amount due and the idiot couldn't remember. I stated that I'll contact my state govt. with the case number he gave me and he said the state has no idea and is unaware of my delinquent account so I need to pay now. Disconntected the call. An hour later I called back and someone answered. I said hello and told him to fuck off, he then said "fuck you, fuck you fuuuuck you!". He made made laugh.

IRS scam call from male voice with heavy foreign accent. We are investigating you for tax evasion, your assets will be seized, call us at 206-201-2091. Hopefully they catch these scammers and put them in a third world jail where the victims of their scam can stone them to death

I just received a call from this number on my landline - gave them a call back from my cell - and they asked for the number in which I received the call. I gave them my landline number - they provided my name - started to ask if I was aware of a lawsuit against me - which I said, no. Then took a minute and advised that I was about to be arrested for tax evasion - asked if I had any knowledge of that - I said no again. He then advised according to his records - I had not paid my taxes for years 2009-2013 and that an arrest warrant had been issued for me for tax evasion. I then asked, if he was with the IRS - and he said yes he was. - I said great - I've got my tax records readily available to show that I've not only paid - but gotten refunds issued each year. I invited him to come and have lunch (my treat) with me, my tax records and my good friends Smith and Wesson - and he hung up.

Received call from 206-201-2091 at 8:47 am CST in Chicago, IL. Did not pick up because of unknown number. Caller left voicemail with very thick accent and message was mostly garbled. I made out the words "IRS" and "investigation". Like the previous poster noted, I was suspicious right away because it was coming from a Seattle number. Employees who work for the Federal Government speak and enunciate very clearly!!!!! I called them and asked him to repeat the name of the organization 3 times and told him that I could not understand him. He hung up. I called back and told him to spell the name of the company, and he did. I told him that I knew what was up with them calling from Seattle. He hung up again. I called back and asked how they got my number. He asked if he was speaking with Cassie So-and-so, and I told him no. Hung up again! I called back again :) Different person, who I heard talking in the background the first 3 times, picked up the phone this time. I asked how they got my number, and hung up again. I feel bad for the little old ladies and men who fall for scams like these. Better not call me again.

6/01/15: 9 a.m. robo call from Indian sounding man claiming to be from IRS, saying there is a lawsuit being filed against me for tax fraud. Says I must call 206-291-2091 immediately. I think not. Btw, that is a Seattle area code.

I got a call from this number this morning. Same story. A recorded message from a man who lacked proficiency in the English language. Said he was from the IRS and that the IRS was ready to sue me for tax evasion and that it was important that I return his call immediately. The message had scam written all over it.
